The challenge: Create a 21st-Century Learning Environment with meaningful instruction for a classroom full of deserving students.In 60 minutes you will be inspired to take advantage of Web 2.0 technologies, the Flat World, ubiquitous on-demand learning, NCLB, and your favorite technologies to create the 21st-Century Learning Environment and fill it with meaningful curriculum. Taking a cue from the reality television game shows, challenge yourself to envision 21st-Century classrooms, curriculum and methods of teaching. Making use of the numerous resources available online, at the school site, through districts and organizations, give the traditional classroom a makeover. Learn how educators around the globe are using free and low-cost services to dramatically redesign both student learning and their own professional learning. Leave with the skills and inspiration to meet the 21st-Century Learning Challenge and become the next National Teaching Star.
Robert EM Craven is an educator with a technology obsession. An educator since 1993, Robert began his true teaching career at South Gate Middle School, one of the largest middle schools in the country. At South Gate, Robert quickly realized the impact technology made on both his teaching and student learning; this discovery started him on his endless journey into the integration, development and practice of technology and curricular integration. Currently, Robert is an Educational Technology Coordinator for the Orange County Department of Education, in charge of online learning, professional development and emerging technologies. Robert is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Teacher, and was recognized as one of the "Best of NECC" presenters in 2007. He is a frequent presenter at conferences both in California and nationally speaking on topics ranging from iPods to 21st Century Classroom design, Podcasting to Web 2.0 and more. When not presenting Robert can be found at the local coffee shop, airport, or baseball field plugged into the grid as digitalroberto.

Late registrants are advised that lunch orders for the CUELA Tech Fair were submitted on 11/10/2008. Anyone registering after that date should note that, pending availability, lunch will be served to them only after earlier registrants receive their lunches.
